Trip Summary:
A volunteering holiday that really touches the heart of the local community. Escorted tour in 4x4 with one co-ordinated volunteering activity day in Sahara desert community working with local people to deliver games and sports for recreational fun and cultural interaction. Also time to explore Marrakech, High Atlas Mountains, Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou World Heritage site, camel trek, nomad desert camp & off-roading in 4x4.
SheherazadVentures is promoting a programme of community-based volunteering holidays which incorporate an 'activity day' for local people delivered by YOU, the tourist!
Can you lead games such as Twister, 'Simon Says', musical chairs, relay races, face-painting etc... Then it's up to you to host a party in the desert and invite the locals to join in! Or for a more specific day-project maybe can you bring team sports or non-language based activities such as simple painting/crafts/recycling projects? We work in partnership with a local Community Association to develop creative tourism projects that improve daily life for the people of M'Hamid el Ghizlane.
The 'voliday' event is at the heart of your holiday experience, but either side we will take care of everything and show you the wonderful sights and dramatic scenery of Morocco - from the sizz ling souks of Marrakech, to the stunning High Atlas Mountains and culminating in a magical night deep in the Sahara under the African stars.
This holiday is suitable for solo travellers wanting to join with others, couples, ready made small groups and families with older children.

Volunteering day!! Morning spent setting up the equipment, making posters and getting the word out to local villagers. Afternoon is when the event takes place, followed by site clean-up and dinner at our bivouac camp. |

Early morning opportunity to meet the locals again in the weekly village souk. Alternatively take a camel trip for 2 hours and we will pick you up in the 4x4s to head off into the deep dunes of Erg Chegaga to spend night in nomad camp. Picnic lunch near Sacred Oasis, |
