Solo travellers

Travelling alone is quite often the most exciting way of getting to really experience a new country. In Morocco you will inevitably attract attention and curiosity from locals, and if you are a female, you will perhaps attract more attention than you really want! You must always keep your wits about you, not taking unnecessary risks, but the upside is that for the solo-traveller there are always many more opportunities to meet new people, hear fascinating stories and enjoy unexpected encounters.

However, travelling alone is not for the faint-hearted and we at SheherazadVentures want to combine the thrill of 'going solo' with the safety of being part of a small group, at the same time participating in imaginative and worthwhile holiday activities.

At certain times of year we are running tours that cater for anything from 4 - 10 people who do not necessarily know each other beforehand.  You'll be in good company and we'll be on-hand to make sure things go smoothly.  

Most of our small group trips are open to single or non-single bookers, however, we have designed one trip per year specially for single people only - it's unique, it's community-based, it's called "Dating in the Oasis"!

Dating in the Oasis!

A unique socio-ethical holiday! An annual treat for single travellers, offering an 8-night tour in the South of Morocco with 3 days spent harvesting dates in the oases of the Drâa Valley alongside a host community. Includes stay in Marrakech, Ouarzazate and also a night deep in the Sahara desert in nomad-style bivouac.

Volunteering Tour - Fun for All!

7-night group escorted tour in 4x4 with day of volunteering in Sahara desert working with local people to provide recreational/arts/fun activities. Tour includes Marrakech, High Atlas Mountains, visit to Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou World Heritage site, camel trek & overnight in nomad desert camp. Tours start on a Thursday, volunteering day is Sunday.

Cooking, Hiking & Shopping

a 4-night active short-break combining Marrakech and High Atlas Mountains. Includes a day Moroccan cookery course, a hike in the Atlas Mountains for lunch with a Berber family and then shop till you drop in the souks and markets of Marrakech.

Berber Pottery-Making

8-night trip including 3 days working within a community co-operative of Berber potters to make, decorate and bake your own pots. 
Suitable for both amateur and experienced potters/ceramic artists. Not for complete beginners.
