Trip Summary:
a stunning circular 4x4 tour going off-road into mountains from Ouarzazate via Valley of 1000 kasbahs and Valley of Roses. Stopping for tea with cave-living nomads and walking in the magnificent Todra Gorges. Then into the Sahara desert for a sunset camel trip and bivouac camp in Erg Chebbi..
This trip can be extended by a day if you want to spend more time walking in the Todra Gorges or in the desert.
Day to Day Itinerary:
Meal Plan Day 1 Depart in 4x4 from Ouarzazate and via Skoura palm groves. Off-road in 4x4 in mountains and travelling through Valley of Thousand Kasbahs and the Valley of Roses, stopping for lunch in the centre for rose cultivation in Kelaa M'Gouna. Then discovering nomads living in caves in mountainside we stop for tea. Spend night in trekking region of Todra Gorges. L,D Day 2 Morning walk in Todra Gorges and then continue to Rissani and desert at Merzouga. Sunset camel trip to high dunes of Erg Chebbi and spend night in bivouac camp. B, L, D Day 3 Early morning departure and head back via Alnif and Tazzarine, perhaps finding a few prehistoric fossils along the way! You return to Ouarzazate via the lush Drâa Valley by nightfall.
